DISCIPLESHIP & FELLOWSHIP
Ministries
Find your place among the ministries of Hickory Ridge Community Church. Strengthen your walk with Christ and experience rich fellowship as we grow together in faith.
SMALL GROUPS
Small groups at Hickory Ridge Community Church exist to help you grow up to full maturity in your relationship with God and others. You may be doing great in your Christian walk right now, but by being in relationship with fellow believers, you will experience even more of the abundant life Jesus has to offer.
A small group is typically made up of people who meet regularly during the week to share about their lives, support one another, and study biblical truths. Each group has a host and a leader (or one person may host and lead). Groups meet in a number of different locations. Our goal is to accommodate the different needs of those in our church by offering a variety of options.
This can vary from group to group, but most groups have a time of fellowship, prayer, Bible or book study, discussion, and life application. Not all groups study the same thing. Some discuss Pastor Calvin’s Sunday message, some read and study books about Christian living, and others study books of the Bible.
We also encourage our small groups to serve the community together. HRCC small groups have fed the homeless, written letters and built homes for families, and much more. It’s amazing what God can do through a group of people as they use their skills, gifts and resources to help those in need.
Look through the list below and find a group or two that suit your schedule and interests. You can call or email Don Bradford, the Small Group Ministry Coordinator, or the individual group leader to get more information. After you get directions and details, just show up and check it out!
Hopefully, you’ll feel right at home with the first group you visit, but you may want to visit several groups before you find the group that’s right for you. If you feel a little nervous or unsure, just stick with it – you’ll be happy you did!

Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to find fellowship and freedom from the issues that are controlling our life. CR is a biblical and balanced program to help us overcome all of the "Hurts, Hang-ups, and Habits" that weigh us down and interfere in our relationships with each other and the Lord. Unlike other 12-step programs, CR is based on the actual time tested words of Jesus Christ rather than psychological theory.
The purpose of the Celebrate Recovery ministry here at Hickory Ridge Community Church is to Teach, Testify, and Talk about God’s healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps based on the 8 Recovery Principles found in the Beatitudes. This experience allows us to “be changed.” and heal. We open the door to lasting recovery by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another.
Celebrate Recovery is for ANYONE who struggles with issues in life.
We call those issues HURTS, HANG-UPS, and HABITS.-
A HURT is an emotional reaction to another person's behavior or to a disturbing situation.
-
A HANG-UP is a negative mental attitude that is used to cope with people or adversity.
-
A HABIT is an addiction to something or someone.
-
Alcohol, Abandonment, Anger, Anxiety, Caffeine, Chronic Illness and Pain, Co-dependency, Control, Credit Cards, Depression, Divorce, Drugs, Eating Disorders, Emotional Abuse, Fear, Gambling, Grief, Guild, Insecurity, Low Self-Esteem, Lying, Money, Nicotine, Overworking, Overeating, People Pleasing, Perfection, Phobias, Physical Abuse, Pornography, Procrastination, PTSD, Resentments, Rejection, Rage, Sarcasm, Sexual Abuse, Sexual Addictions, Shame, Social Media, Verbal Abuse, Video Games, and much more.
Sunday Night Schedule
5:15 PM: Fellowship meal, coffee, and snacks.
6:00 PM: Large group celebration, music, worship and a lesson or testimony.
7:00 PM: Men's and women's open share groups meet, discuss the lesson, testimony, or concerns, issues, and victories in recovery.
Immediately following the Large Group Celebration we break out into small groups. Open Share Group meetings are a safe place to share your thoughts and feelings with others who are also struggling with similar issues on their journey to recovery. These groups are gender specific (men meet with men, women meet with women), confidentiality and anonymity are essential. Open share groups are an ideal place to find support from others, give support to others, and work together to find healing.
CR Resources Table
-
Issue Pamphlets
-
CR Bibles
-
Step Study Guides
-

Accountability Partners and Sponsors
Accountability partners are like team members who listen to you and encourage you. Sponsors are like Coaches who have overcome challenges in life and help others achieve success.

MEN'S MINISTRY
Mission
To honor Christ, strengthen our families and build the Lord's church. To encourage men to better husbands, fathers and leaders in church and our community.
Purpose
We call our Men's Ministry the Iron Men's Ministry. It exists to equip, empower and encourage our men to live for God, by connecting with each other around God's Word on a regular basis. We want our men to go from spectators in the church and in their families to leaders.
Men's Breakfast
We have a monthly men's breakfast that meets every second Saturday of each month at 7 AM. We have speakers from the leaders of our church, pastors of other churches and community leaders. Breakfast is only $3/person. 1st time guests are always FREE.
For more information email Dan Stonecypher at stoney400@outlook.com
WOMEN'S MINISTRY
Mission
To develop a caring community of women devoted to Christ through relationships, Christ-centered focus and meeting needs.
Relationships
We seek significant and deepening relationships with one another.
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
Philippians 2:1-4
Christ-centered Focus
We provide spiritual encouragement and growth.
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.
Colossians 1:9-12
Meeting Needs
We help each other in all seasons of our lives.
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. I John 3:16-18

RIDGE STUDENTS
Mission of The Ridge Youth Group
To help build a foundation in Christ in the lives of youth through worship, the reading and teaching of the Word, prayer, discipleship and the fellowship of other believers.
1 Corinthians 3:10-14 – By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person's work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward.

PRISON MINISTRY
Reaching God's People in Prison
I was in prison and you came to me (Matthew 25:36). Like a small, flickering beacon in the distance, HRCC’s Prison Ministry purposes to be the light of Jesus Christ calling forth hope, change and a new way while sharing the good news of forgiveness and redemption.
PRAYER MINISTRY
And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. – James 5:15-16
Prayer Time: Thursday mornings from 5-6.
At Hickory Ridge Community Church, we believe that prayer has the power to change lives. As a result, we have an active prayer ministry that takes place in a variety of settings: in worship, within the Intercessory Prayer group, the prayer chain, and even online.
If you or someone you know needs prayer, please fill out the form. Your request is sacred and confidential and will be prayed for in a loving, compassionate manner.
If you'd like someone from our prayer team to contact you, please indicate that on the form.
